The Secret Society of Storytellers

Write a story where you are inducted into a secret society—one that has protected and passed down the ancient art of digital storytelling for generations.
But to be accepted, you must:

  • Prove you’ve mastered key secret techniques (which are really things you learned or practiced in this course).
  • Face bizarre initiation challenges inspired by your actual experiences in class.
  • Share one lesson you wish to leave behind for future recruits.

? You can make the society futuristic, medieval, magical, or absurd.

? You can invent ridiculous or deeply meaningful “tests” (for example, “You must craft a narrative strong enough to make a stone weep”, or “You must meme your own life story in under 60 seconds.”). You’ll have to post such memes on Mastodon!! (Remember to use the magical hashtags #cmu260 #testStory). Please, also embed such Masto posts in your post.

? End your story with a scroll or pledge that lists the most important things you believe about storytelling after this course.

? Bonus: Create a short video “recruitment ad” for the Secret Society, explaining what it takes to become a true storyteller. (Use any video creation tool you prefer.)

As always, post one blog post following these instructions. Then go to Canvas, open Tarea #6 and proclaim that the work you did was yours and only yours. Enjoy!
